“Babylon” Building

“Babylon” Building was awarded the “Project of Year” at All-Ukrainian competition “Vira Ukraine”. Image of this house constitutes a mixture of several styles directions: High-Tech, Minimalism and Constructivism. The main idea of “Babylon” dwelling building was to create an environment harmonically combining modern architecture and genuine natural landscape by way of optimal integration of dwelling space into the land plot. Area of the building is 923 sq. m., area of the plot is 5000 sq. m. Landscape of the plot was given another form to make it respond to the geometry of building and remind of wild nature with its uncontrolled flora. Insulation of buildings was designed in a way that during the daytime only the sunlight favourable for that region was used to light the rooms. Closed northern facade protected from cold northern winds. Energy-efficient glazing was used for widely opened southern façade. Green walkable roof and terraces make this building environmentally rational, energy-saving and environment-friendly.
Many modern technologies are used in the project: green roof, energy saving glazing and self-cleaning windows equipped with hydraulic mechanisms; translucent concrete has been used for the guest house. The most part of the plot has been assigned to the temple complex including a large lake being a sundial. This aggregate of architectural forms, the location of which and whose ability to move across the plot enable to make a number of astronomic forms.
